About me
My name is Kaecey McCormick, and I'm writer & artist located in the San Francisco Bay Area. My poetry and prose has found a home in many online and print journals including Poet Lore, The Baltimore Review, The Pinch Journal, Clockhouse, On the Seawall, The Heartland Review, Poetry South, Jabberwock Review, Pedestal Magazine, Pine Hills Review, One Sentence Poems, and Sky Island Journal as well as my chapbooks, Sleeping with Demons (2023) and Pixelated Tears (2018).
I served as Poet Laureate for the city of Cupertino, California (2018–2020), and my writing has received numerous honors, most recently the the Connecticut Poetry Prize, the Dare to Dream Poetry Prize, and multiple awards in the Joy Bale Boone Poetry Prize. I’ve been awarded residencies and fellowships from the Community of Writers and the Good Hart Artist Residency, where I presented at the Harbor Springs Festival of the Book, and I currently teach at The Writers Studio.

Visual art is a natural extension of my imaginative side, helping fuel my creative writing. I work intuitively, from a place of intention, and change my tools and materials when it feels right.
When I'm not writing or making art, I'm hiking in the beautiful hills and mountains of Northern California, spending time with my family, or curled up in my favorite chair reading a book.
